One often overlooked aspect of gun, firearm and range safety is visually inspecting each round of ammo before loading it in your magazine or firearm.
In this video I show you a round of factory 9mm ammo that has the bullet pushed deep down into the case. Firing this round of ammunition could be dangerous to yourself, your firearm and potentially others nearby at the range due to the decreased case capacity and thus increased chamber pressure such a situation would create.
There are many other things to look for when inspecting ammunition before using it such as excessive dents, case bulges, bullets being seated too shallow and more.
The overwhelming majority of factory ammo is perfectly safe to use in firearms designed for it, but every once in a while defects slip past quality control and that’s where we, the end users, must give a final inspection before loading that round of ammo.
Thanks for watching and be safe on the range!
