This shows how much the timing chain stretches over it's life, to resolve the problem replace the timing chain, guides and the tensioner. BGA do a chain kit and VW do kits from some vehicles and the parts as separate items as well.
Update. VW have modified one of the chain guides on some engines to make it less likely for the chain to jump.
