The Lexus Hybrid Drive system combines the fuel-injected 2.5-litre D4-S 4-cylinder petrol engine with two High-torque electric motor-generators for strong acceleration and passing performance. Instead of transfer gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels, the AWD system uses a second, independent electric motor to drive the rear wheels when driving. it senses that it's needed to help maintain optimal traction. Performance and range with the NX 450h Plug-In Hybrid In a first for Lexus, the all-new Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV) system brings Lexus Electrified to life with performance and quietness characteristic of a PHEV model.
