Finally, interesting facts about this plant.
Polka dot plant, sometimes called freckle face plant, is an herbaceous warm-climate perennial with brightly variegated leaves.
The most common polka dot plants feature green foliage flecked with pink, but varieties with purple, white, or red variegation are also available.
Polka dot plants are easy to grow with the proper conditions. They have a moderate growth rate & remain relatively small once mature, especially when grown indoors as houseplants. However, if allowed a long growing season, may grow above average. But, more about this later.
Because they are native to warm climates, many gardeners treat them as annuals when planted outdoors.
Polka dot plants are not considered invasive plants in temperate climates, but are in a few tropical locations. More about this in the interesting facts section, in the last portion of this video.
Now...The Basic growing instructions...RRR
Polka dot plant grows best in warm, humid conditions with bright, indirect light inside or partial shade outside. It prefers, moist, well draining soil, with an average amount of fertilizing.
Detailed growing instructions,
Soil
Polka dot plants prefer soil rich in organic matter or compost with good drainage. An all-purpose organic potting mix is typically suitable for these plants. Or, use potting mix with some fertilizer mixed in. Or, mix some slow release fertilizer into your garden soil. Also, mix in some pumice, perlite, or sand to improve soil drainage.
Water
Keep the soil evenly moist. Water the plant when the top half-inch of soil has dried out. Cut back slightly on watering in the winter, then resume watering once you see new growth appear in the spring.
It is Fertilizer, time !
Feed container plants with an organic fertilizer designed for houseplants once a month during the warm growing season. If planting in-ground, mix organic compost into the soil each spring before planting. That should be enough nutrients for this plant all season. However, if you would like to give a light water soluable fertilizer in the spring or early summer, there will be no disagreement.

Let's get to pruning...
The polka dot plant can grow to be 1–3 ft tall and 1–2 ft wide if growth tips are snipped off.
Cut or pinch back the top two leaves on each stem every week to promote bushier growth and keep your polka dot plant from becoming leggy.
Here is the important requirement to keep it growing until the first frost.
When the plant flowers, in late summer or early autumn, clip off the flower spike with clean, sharp shears because the plant will enter dormancy after it flowers. Flowers are not showy or aromatic. So, do not fret about missing out on a spetacular floral display.
Removing the flowers prevents the plant from going into dormancy. This is very important. Cut off the flower spike.
Overwintering
Bring outdoor container plants indoors before night temperatures drop below 60 degrees Fahrenheit in late summer or early fall. Otherwise, it may go into dormancy. You may bring them outdoors again the following spring when night temperatures are consistently above 60 degrees.
Propagating
You may propagate polka dot plants from stem cuttings. You'll have the most success in spring or summer. Rooting in water is the easiest way. Cut stem 4 inches long. Remove lowest half of leaves.
Put the cutting in the glass or jar. Add water so that the lower portion of the stem is submerged.
Put the cutting in a warm place with bright, indirect light. Top off the water to keep the level consistent, and change the water every two weeks
When roots are about two inches long, the cutting is ready to pot up in soil. This may take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
