Today we ventured off to Jagalchi Markets in Busan to explore some of the local seafood markets. Asides from trying local Korean street food (think tteokbokki & fish cake), we also got the chance to try some quirky looking worms/seafood!
Our guide introduced us to some of the local weird seafoods available and we thought we'd give it a try!
In this video, we give live octopus & spoon worms a try. Also known as gaebul 개불 or "penis fish" (the scientific name is urechis unicinctus) and definitely was a really weird but interesting try!
I've actually tried live octopus before when I was a kid, so this was my second time, but it was definitely fun & yummy to have it live/raw again. Korea does have a lot of quirky foods that aren’t so common in other countries so it was nice to try a bit more of Korean culture!
What’s the weirdest foods you’ve ever tried? And have you tried spoon worms or live octopus before? Share your comments & thoughts below!
