One of Pakistan's most important Sufi shrines is located in Sehwan, district Jamshoro, Sindh. The Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is dedicated to the 13th century Sufi Islamic mystic of the same name. The shrine attracts both Muslim and Hindu devotees. Indeed, one of the two hereditary guardian family of the shrine is Hindu. The shrine was originally built in 1356 but has since been upgraded many times, most recently in 1994. It attracts approximately one million visitors annually, both male and female.
