TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS: THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE SINCE BUMBLEBEE?
For those who didn't know, this movie is the direct sequel to Bumblebee (2018) in which we finally see the Transformers in all their splendor, with epic battles and a lot of action, BUT there is a small problem and that is that it seems that to the The writers of this movie forgot the main conflict of the previous one which was the war against the Decepticons for Cybertron, now we have the appearance of Unicron which makes me wonder, is this movie a spiritual sequel to Transformers The Last Knight? Because it seems that this movie is trying to continue in a certain way with the plot of the previous saga and the whole Unicron theme. Was the plot of Transformers 6 recycled for this movie? Those questions don't let me sleep at night, which if the robot designs are great and the plot, while not great, is functional.
We assume that the Autobots that reached the end of Bumblebee are hiding on earth and a Terrorcon known as Scourge arrives, he is something like Unicron's "Silver Surfer" (I don't know much about Transformers lore beyond the movies) then the Autobots travel to Peru where they will ally with the Maximals to stop the imminent threat. Of course, the designs of the Transformers look incredible, at least they no longer look like a bunch of shapeless irons when they fight and that's cool, the villain looks impressive enough, to have him on display in figure. And about humans… Meh! The truth is that the human plot is the WORST thing about this movie, it's slow, boring and zero interesting, the two leads are so forgettable and lacking in personality that I don't even remember their names, to be honest, it would have been great if Hailee Steinfeld was still the protagonist of the saga, She is the best.
The movie is not bad at all, I consider that Bumblebee and Rise Of The Beasts are very good movies, but I still don't know if canceling the Michael Bay saga was the best option, I still don't know the direction this remake will take but hopefully it will be something positive and get ready because one of the best crossovers in movie history is coming (you'll understand when you see the movie).
I think talking about #Transformers: #RiseOfTheBeasts is covering many things because they are good movies but I honestly think that Michael Bay's movies are still better, and it's not out of nostalgia, but it seems to me that those movies had that something that made them unique , at least in that saga the alien invasion felt more like a real threat and not just episodic stories with a happy ending, mind you, I LOVED listening to Steve Jablonsky's Arrival To Earth soundtrack on ROTB, that was seriously a total tribute to the previous series.
If you are a fan of Transformers then you will surely love this movie, it has quite interesting scenes and characters (and I am talking about the Transformers) that can give you a very good experience, the maximals were the best of the movie without a doubt, and the battle ending is ok i guess. Now it's time to wait for what will happen to this cinematographic universe in the future, hopefully it's on the right track because it's a universe with infinite possibilities and that every Transformers fan can enjoy, but if you ask me: the Michael Bay saga is better.
My rating for this movie is: 8/10
