Flying farolitos. Farolitos are small paper bags partially filled with sand containing a small lighted votive candle. Farolitos are the primary Christmas decoration in Santa Fe New Mexico lining streets, sidewalks, walls and parapits. Flying farolitos takes the concept a step further by creating a paper "balloon", arranging a platform of candles, lighting them and allowing the balloon to fill with heat and ascend into the night sky.
