A man allegedly involved in the killing of a witness in a BSP MLA's murder case last month was shot dead in an encounter, Uttar Pradesh police said today; Manish Sisodia, Delhi's deputy chief minister, will be produced in court this afternoon. The senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has been in the CBI's custody for a week now following his arrest in the Delhi liquor policy case; Two major regional parties - the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the People's Democratic Front (PDF) - on Sunday extended their support to the NPP-led alliance, increasing the number of MLAs backing the Conrad K Sangma-led coalition to 45; Congress's Rahul Gandhi has hit back at BJP over allegations that he had "defamed" the country abroad, alleging that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who did that by discrediting the country's achievements since Independence.
