STORYLINE:
Delegates from over 50 countries are meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this week for the biggest international conference and exhibition of defence technology.
Over 150 delegates are attending the fourth Latin America Defentech conference where advances in the defence industry are showcased.
Outside the venue, visitors viewed an exhibition of Brazilian Army equipment, including a helicopter that was built as a result of a partnership between European companies and the Brazilian Helibras company - which used to belong to the Brazilian government but is now in private hands.
The British delegation is larger this year - with over 40 participants. In one demonstration, British soldiers simulated a peacekeeping exercise.
Defence ministers from Latin America also met to discuss the continent's defence issues, with the fight against drugs at the top of the agenda.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Brazilian Minister of Defence, Jose Viegas Filho, said he hoped the meeting would lead to further co-operation between countries.
The conference finishes on Friday.
