Balochistan is the Province of Pakistan which is the largest province according to area. Mary Jane Tunnel is located approximately 40 km southeast of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. The nearest towns are Kolpur and Mach. Aab e Gum is beautiful railway station.
I travelled on Sibbi Quetta Railway track back in June 1997 and recently in 2024. In 1997 The weather was hot and when the train stopped for a few minutes at Sibbi junction it was extremely hot, we took some water and took a sigh of relief when the train again started. After a few hours the weather became a little comfortable and we reached Quetta. In that journey, although we passed through some tunnels, I was not knowing that there are total of 17 tunnels. However, I again visited the area in 2021 / 24 and had read more about these tunnels and Bolan Pass. When I visited ,different tourists were also taking pictures and talking about great love story. I could imagine the living conditions here more than a century ago. Mach Prison considered one of the most difficult prisons in Pakistan is also situated nearby. Kolpur (a pleasant weather town)is also located closer.
