What do you do when kids get into the shop?
Spend time with them, build with them, teach them!
With some guidance, here is one of two projects they helped created. My niece chose to add something to her play kitchen. She was able to choose the inlay, the font style and wording, and even run the Shaper Origin for part of the project!
I couldn't have made the project this quickly without Shaper Origin and Shaper Studio! #Shapermade shapertools.com
I sanded everything to 180 grit before engraving and routing. I added water to raise the grain where milk paint would be applied. The Real Milk Paint Co. was the perfect finish. We blended their ‘sweetheart’ milk paint with their ‘soft white’ (custom blend to get the perfect color). It is easy to apply, fast drying, nontoxic, kid friendly, and looks great too!
The inlay was done with a Freud 1/16" router bit (1/16" shank) which I couldn’t find anywhere except OakTreeSupply.
