BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1990's
Wandsworth Road Station (South London) on 8th August 1998
I visited this favourite location in South London on a very warm and sunny morning, with the famous Battersea Power Station looking over us. I captured on video one of the Summer Saturday only services from the Midlands to Margate and Ramsgate hauled by "Deltic" D9000, which was on loan to Cross Country at the time. She made a beautiful and rather rare shot as she crossed over Factory Junction. Quite a few class 73's were also witnessed, one train triple headed even !. Plenty of Eurostar trains were witnessed as well as other diesel classes. Naturally the usual modern EMU classes were seen for the area and still plenty of slam door stock. Connex livery was rife and looked good on the stock, did they pinch it from Eurostar I hasten to ask. A great couple of hours with freight and so much passenger traffic, always never fails to keep the camera rolling.

Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years have kindly shown an interest in my material.
