Are you always worried about the irregular dark patches you see around your lips, forehead, nose, and upper cheek?
It is called hyperpigmentation, generally known as melasma or chloasma.
This happens due to increased secretion of female sex hormones progesterone and estrogen during pregnancy.
Let's see a few ways by which you can care for the skin to reduce hyperpigmentation.
⭐ Don't stress too much - Remember it's normal, every pregnant mom out there has this. This is just another way your body is preparing for the little one's arrival.
⭐ Never skip your sunscreen - Your skin is too sensitive at this point in time, and UV exposure can trigger hyperpigmentation.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
⭐ Include more vitamin A, C, and E-rich foods like fresh fruits and vegetables.
⭐ Stay hydrated - Drink a minimum of 3 litres of water every day. Prefer having tender coconut water or juices.
Remember Mommy, this too shall pass and there is nothing much to worry about.
But remember if you have any kind of skin irritation, or itching around the pigmented area consult with your dermatologist.
Hope this helped.
