A strong themed Autumn Steam Gala falls to Southern Region at Severn Valley Railway with celebrating of BR Standard 4MT no.75069 returning to steam. With up to 5 visiting guest plus the supporting home fleet including some really nice sunny weather was great, despite some problems with engines failing.
The visiting engines was formed of another bulleid of the original spam can West Country Class no.34092 City of Wells, SR Q Class no.30541 making its third railway visit to date, with a BR Standard 4MT 2-6-0 no.76017 making its class first visit since 1980's! With two long term loan Great Western's Large Prairie no.4144 & Modified Hall no.6960 Raveningham Hall back at the line since late 90's.
Home fleet was 75069 plus the Bulleid 34027 Taw Valley. 1450 making its last gala appearance before overhaul with 2857 & 43106 ran also. The two Panniers 1501 & 7714 ran the ever popular night trains.
Both visitors 30541 & 34092 both failed during the gala with 30541 with leaking tubes and 34092 with apparently reserver issues. 34092 did got fixed however 30541 failed most of the day on Saturday & all Sunday.
