In partnership with Teesside Archives, each Thursday at 5pm during Discover Middlesbrough Local History Month we will be showcasing newly digitised oral history recordings on a range of themes from the collections of Teesside Archives.
The first ‘Rediscovered Voices of Teesside: Memories from the Archives’ extract is on the Second World War and comes from a 1980s interview with Sidney Clay. Here he shares his memories of life in Middlesbrough during the conflict including recollections of air raids, the bombing of Middlesbrough Station and the unique experience of blackout.
