This is the 6th road trip video in the series, taken during the covid-19 pandemic, on the 31st of July 2020. Restrictions were partly suspended to allow for people in Ireland to go on staycations while travellers from other countries were not allowed in without a two-week quarantine. This meant quiet roads and towns. (We had actually never seen it this quiet in summertime.)
If possible, please watch at the highest 4K definition (2160p), for a better quality video experience, even when you don't have a 4K screen. 1440p also gives a good picture on bigger screens while 1080p and 720p will probably be fine on smaller screens. (Some devices won't let you go higher than 1080p).
We continue driving on the N67 towards the Flaggy Shore with beautiful views of the Burren hills. Just before we get to the Flaggy Shore we make a stop at the Russell gallery [ Ссылка ]. We only show the outside of the gallery in the video but believe you me; it is well worth having a look inside and you can also get a tea or coffee there with some lovely cakes. At the Flaggy shore itself; we stop to have a look at Mount Vernon, former summer residence of Lady Gregory. She used to entertain writers like Bernard Shaw, Synge and W.B. Yeats there. It is now a guesthouse. We drive around the Flaggy Shore on a very narrow road and get back to the N67 direction Galway. We drive through Kinvarra and stop at Dunguaire Castle, restored in the early 1920s after which it also hosted the famous Irish authors of the time for evenings of literary recitals and merriment. From the castle we drive into the Burren hills on narrow roads enjoying the Burren landscape. We make a short stop at Leamaneh castle and end the video just after Corofin when it starts raining.
