The Düsseldorf Arcaden (sometimes called "Bilker Arcaden" in common language) are a retail and adventure center in the Düsseldorf neighborhood of Unterbilk on the site of a former freight station. As part of the entire project of roughly 48,500 m², retail space was developed for around 110 businesses, restaurants, other services and a swimming pool. Also incorporated into the area are residences, a parking lot, event halls, a branch of the municipal library and 850 parking places. [1] [2] In addition, since September 6, 2008, the district administrative office for District 3 has been situated in the building. The mall opened on September 23, 2008. However, even at the beginning of 2010, part of the residential building and park design were still in the development phase
