2. SOUNDBITE (Hungarian) Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister:
"It’s appropriate to express our sympathy and sorrow first to the families of the victims of the terrorist act in Germany and to the German people in general. We are with them in what has unfortunately become a routine terrorist attack almost every Christmas.”

4. SOUNDBITE (Hungarian) Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister:
"These phenomena have only existed in Europe since the start of the migration crisis. So there is no doubt that there is a link between the changed world in Western Europe, the migration that flows there - especially illegal migration - and terrorist acts. But I see that there are still those who try to deny these connections. But we have to say that there was no such thing before, and now it is happening. And so Hungary can draw the lesson from this that we must consistently insist that Hungary should not be allowed to transform into a world in which such a thing can happen. But first of all, we are with the Germans.”

6. SOUNDBITE (Hungarian) Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister:
"I see that footage, and I say, ‘Hey, my kid goes to the Christmas market too, right?' He goes with my wife, and I get a phone call that they are dead... What! It is clear that when terrorist acts occur, everyone sees the real risk and weight of migration. And I do not want the weight, consequence and responsibility of migration to diminish in people's minds as we move away from terrorist acts in time. I want to keep this alive in Hungary. The migratory pressure at the Hungarian border may be smaller at times and at other times greater, but the threat on a historical scale in which we live is enormous and constant.”

8. SOUNDBITE (Hungarian) Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister:
"That is why we must always have the means to thwart the efforts of Brussels. Because now, if this Magdeburg case was not in this political environment in Brussels, but stood on its own, we Hungarians would say that we deeply sympathize with the German people, we are with them in feeling and in our prayers. They should solve this problem. This is a German affair, we would say. But it is not a German matter, because Brussels wants Magdeburg to happen in Hungary too, and the German government does not protect us in this. Mr. Weber is at the forefront of this in Brussels. They want to impose a migration regulation on Hungary, and its risk is glaringly big. We would never let that happen, we will fight back. We will have tools, sometimes provocative, sometimes civilized legal tools, but we will always defend ourselves because we cannot let this happen.”

10. SOUNDBITE (Hungarian) Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister:
"The new U.S. president will take office on January 20. And we all know that if he implements even a fraction of what he set out to do, the world is on the verge of huge changes.”
