The CNC drilling machine, Victory 2, uses unique steel fabrication technology to achieve industry-leading productivity for a traveling column single spindle drilling line. Ficep first invented this movable drill spindle concept in the 80’s and has engineered different enhanced versions over the years.
When processing structural shapes on the Victory 2 the section remains stationary and unclamped on the material support table as just the drill positions along the structural steel section to be drilled. The drill senses the leading end of the section and is then positioned to the programmed locations by means of a positive rack and pinion system. Once in position, the onboard hydraulic material clamp, in conjunction with non-contact laser technology, is utilized to probe the material surfaces.
The Victory 2 is engineered with FICEP’s “Direct Drive” spindle technology to deliver 100% of the motor’s 17KW (23 HP) power to the tool at speed up to 5,000 RPM. The positive spindle feed is with a ball screw to take full advantage of today’s high performance carbide tooling.
The main electrical cabinet with 3-phase power is mounted on the movable drill assembly to reduce the wiring required to the movable drill cabinet.
A wireless remote control is furnished so the operator can be totally engaged in material loading and unloading while the drill line is fully engaged.
