Storm Dudley hits Northern Europe on February 17th 2022.
The storm first hit the UK and Ireland on February 16th, bringing down trees and causing floods. Train services were stopped and businesses closed as the storm hit. Thousands were left without electricity as the storm damaged power supplies.
In the Netherlands, trees were pulled down by the force of the wind, damaging buildings and vehicles, and blocking roads.
In Germany, the storm caused rough seas, with a passenger ferry in Hamburg being damaged by high waves. In coastal areas, tidal surges caused floods in low lying areas.
The storm's strength impacted on Poland, which also suffered from a reported tornado in Wielkopolska. In Krakow, a crane was blown over as wind speeds rose.
Further damage is expected as Storm Eunice hits Northern Europe on Friday February 18th, with 100 miles per hour winds forecast. A red warning is in place for the UK.
