Green Municipal Aggregation, or Community Choice Aggregation as it is sometimes known, is a mechanism by which a city or town can take control over their electricity supply and add the green (local, renewably-sourced) electricity to the mix.
In this webinar, we go over the different types of aggregation programs that we support in Massachusetts, typical program structure, savings achieved by the programs currently running and the path forward. The webinar is based on a report we released in February about aggregation titled Green Municipal Aggregation in Massachusetts, which delves into the current state of electricity aggregation in a lot more detail, in addition to providing our view on where the aggregation programs will move forward.
If you're interested in bringing more renewable electricity to your city or town and you live in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, please review the material and get in touch with you at hello@greenenergyconsumers.org to start on the next steps to aggregation. While we work on electricity aggregation primarily in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, other states have electricity aggregation also. In Massachusetts, it has been an approved and practiced program since 1997.
