UPDATE - FULL START TO FINISH DELID TUTORIAL HERE - [ Ссылка ]
Hey guys alot of people who asking me about Haswell and the temps so I decided to delid and also make a how to with some pointers. I have to admit it was really easy, this being my first time doing it I decided to do the vice method since I had the tools sitting around and I can thoroughly recommend it.
If you are in Japan too and wish to do this I can help you out (maybe send the chip to me and I can send it back).
This will also work for Ivy Bridge i5-3570k and i7-3770k, the chip here was my i5-4670k, which should be identical to the i7-4770k. This netted me a 6 degree temp drop, and probably more after my arctic silver settles in.
If you have any questions let me know.
The process is really simple and I will lay out in some easy steps:
1. Grip to vice, use a hammer and block of wood to take the chip off.
2. Clean off excess glue / TIM with alcohol wipe
3. Polish with polish rag and apply new thermal paste with spread method for Haswell and line method for Ivy (due to the VRM being next to the chip on Haswell).
4. Put the chip in first then put the IHS on top and just plate it down then install your heatsink and watch the temps drop :).
Don't be too nervous, this was very easy to do and is the safest and only method to do IMO.
