Ever year, millions of tonnes of agro-residues are burnt in the fields in India due to a lack of a viable market. Stubble burning is leading to severe environmental and health problems, and efforts are underway to incentivize the use of these residues for energy purposes. However, significant challenges exist in terms of transport, aggregation, cost, storage etc. which are hindering the scale up of accessible biomass feedstock.
The third webinar of the Bioenergy India series ‘Matching biomass supply and demand cost-effectively – optimized aggregation and supply chain efficiency in India’, the WBA will convene a broad range of stakeholders including aggregators and traders of biomass fuel who will share their experience on how to improve the accessibility of solid biomass for energy purposes.
