For 6 years we have been fighting to save Barrows Lane Football Fields and Community Hall for local residents. Entrusted to the Co-operative in 1920 by the Barrows Cadbury Family, this amazing heart of Yardley could be covered in concrete if Persimmons Builders get their way to build 110 houses. The local community are devastated at being ignored by Central England Co-operative whom we have respected for many years. Sadly, they do not support the community although the media hipe says something very different! The truth? It is about making a profit and relieving themselves of a responsibility they no longer want.
