In 1988, Eagle Vale was one of the new satellite suburbs of Campbelltown Shire. It is the only suburb in the Shire that has an artificial lake and a leisure centre with a fitness facility, heated swimming pool and library. The Shire is starting to bloom after the completion of the development of the suburbs of Kearns, Raby, St Andrews, Blair Athol, Blairmount, and Eschol Park. Through its Housing Commission, the State Government of New South Wales established Claymore, a subsidised housing estate to provide homes to low to moderate-income families. Claymore estate has a total land area of 1.4 square kilometres. In 2020, the State government transformed it into a mixed-tenure community, with 1,010 new privately owned homes and around 450 homes for social housing tenants. The last phase of the transformation is almost complete, with the previous vacant area now fully developed and on sale.
