Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. We're getting a look at the Americana Series from the new line of Supro guitars. This series is comprised of ten different guitars, each modeled after Supro's legendary Reso-Glass guitars of the 1960s. Each model is made of chambered mahogany with a molded Acousti-Glass top, providing the best combination of lightweight construction and excellent tonal character. A custom tremolo system designed by Trevor Wilkinson graces the Vibrato models, of which there are three. The pickup selections vary from model to model, but every guitar in the Americana series features the recreation of the "Vistatone" single coil pickup from the early 50's. Plus, every guitar features 50's wiring which retains treble throughout the sweep of the volume knob. The Belmont and Sahara models are single-pickup no-nonsense rock machines with volume and tone controls for the entire guitar. The Holiday models feature either a bridge and neck pickup combo or a piezo and bridge pickup configuration for incredible versatility. The Coronado II models feature a standard pickup layout with a reverse wound neck that rejects hum when the switch is set to the middle position. The Dual-Tone is a recreation of the famed 2 pickup model with separate volume and tone for each pickup, plus a master volume to control them all. Featuring a unique triple-pickup arrangement that includes a piezo, the Martinique is acoustically loud enough to use just the piezo, but you can blend the piezo pickup with the Vistatones for a multi-textural tone. Just like the instruments they're inspired by, the Supro guitars are built from quality materials and engineered to last.
