For a while now I have been messing around with wings, and I have to admit I have not been convinced. So used to the freedom of a kite, that a wing has felt pretty rudimental through the learning process. However now I start to see the up-side to this crazy sport, standing alone, in the middle of the solent and sailing past some of the IMOCA 50 fleet as they leave the solent here on the Isle of Wight is a pretty cool feeling and once you are confident to get out into the open ocean, sailing a wing is a strangely satisfying experience.

On that not it seems like the Wing Scene is taking off, having placed this as a 'non-sport' in my mind, with each passing week, new boards, new wings and new foils turn up to the beach!
