California lawmakers passed some of the nation's most ambitious reparations legislation.
None of the bills would provide widespread direct payments to African Americans and two critical reparations bills for Black Californians died hours before the deadline to pass legislation this session.
California State Senator Steven Bradford spoke with Roland Martin about what exactly happened that caused the reparations bills to be pulled by the state's legislative Black Caucus only hours before votes.
