There are reports UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson held a birthday party during England's first lockdown despite the rules forbidding indoor social gatherings.

ITV News is reporting his wife Carrie Johnson helped organise a surprise party for the prime minister on June 19 in 2020 which up to 30 people reportedly attended.

It is believed the pair hosted family and friends at Mr Johnson’s residence in Downing Street - claims Number 10 deny.

The claim comes as Mr Johnson faces increasing pressure to resign over separate claims parties were held at Downing Street with his staff while restrictions were being enforced in England.
