Warrandyte is a suburb about 20 kilometres north east of Melbourne in Victoria, and these days has a population of about 5,500 people.
Back in the 1850s Victorian authorities at the time were determined to stem the flow of locals interstate to goldfields in NSW.
When they offered a reward to anyone who could find gold in Victoria, they eventually paid that reward to the prospector that found gold at Andersons Creek, Warrandyte.
Is there still gold to be found today in Warrandyte?
