I just did my first amatuer radio POTA (Parks on the Air) activation recently. I was amazedat how well the Yaesu Ft-891 did in the field. It really can pull in the weak signals with the DSP. so I decided to do a comparison test between it and my Icom IC-7300. same antenna, just switching radios. I love my 7300 and the operation and waterfall is great. But it can't compare to my FT-891 for weak signals in the noise.
