Yes we do need tripods because no matter how good your in body image stabilization is there are always scenarios like bracketing and long exposures that require it. Also for video it is a must to get professional footage alongside gimbals. The Benro GoPlus Travel Series 2 Tripod is the one I went with because it is solid yet light and very professional. the B2 ball head is so smooth and just glides easily. You can get very precise movements. Also I like it because it can extend its top pole vertically with no disassemble and also it can be made into a monopod... All you need. It even comes with spikes.

I waited 6 weeks for this thing. I think its been discontinued as its very hard to find now.
