This rattle/knock from the engine just started and is present all the time now. its like a dull ratcheting sound. Happens at all rev's (just gets faster), clutch in or out, in gear or in neutral, hot or cold. Bike has 40-50 hrs on it, not ridden hard, basically all single track, slow speed enduro technical riding.

Sounds like it could be a connecting rod needle bearing going out or gone (small or big end I don't know), if it was piston slap I'm sure it would go away with Rev's but it doesnt, a power valve rattle would typically happen at a certain rev range when the harmonics were right to cause it to vibrate, but this happens all the time.

No notable loss of power or any other starting or running issues...just the noise.

Any thoughts before we resort to pulling her apart?
