Tragically, he passed away at just 35 years old from respiratory failure, which may have been worsened by improper medical care involving morphine. Barbra learned about his life and death largely through her own investigation, including obtaining his death certificate.

She recounted the profound impact of his death on her family, leaving her mother a widow with two young children. Despite her father’s absence, Barbra’s longing to connect with him remains, as she metaphorically expressed still waiting for him to come home.
