Follow Ben Shaw (UNSW), Judith Field (UNSW), Simon Coxe (Monash University) and Jemina Haro (National Museum and Art Gallery of Papua New Guinea) as they venture into the mountains of Papua New Guinea in 2016 to excavate a newly discovered Neolithic settlement called Waim with the local community. The local community initiated investigations at the site after they had found a large number of unique artefacts while clearing back part of the hillside for pathways, some of which are on site as garden features to celebrate the antiquity of this location.
Visually stunning drone footage is combined with excavation footage as you get up close to the action as never before found artefacts are revealed in the ground.
