#Bali #Monkeyforestsanctuary #Tegalalangriceterrace
Lots of action this week in Indonesia's most well known Island - Bali.
Bali is a well known hotspot for travellers due to the incredible natural scenery as well as the unique culture the island has on offer.
The monkey forest sanctuary is a large area where around 1000 monkeys can roam the place in their natural habitat. Just remember not to bring any food in with you ;).
The Tegalalang Rice Terrace will likely be an already well known picture. This is (I think) the biggest of the lot however - and very impressive to see in person. There's also the big Bali swing here too.
There's also the Tegenunagan waterfall which is pretty popular destination, although it's quite small.
The cat poo chino most people avoid, but I added it just because I found it amusing. It's literally as the name implies - cat poo turning into a coffee. And it was worth it.
There's also the Mount Batur Volcano sunrise which was here but I'll include in next video as it was a little long.
Overall, while I think I captured some really good footage while here - it was actually one of my least favourite spots of my entire journey. There's a few reasons for this:
Firstly I was ill twice in two short weeks due to the bali belly. Then got bitten by a dog a couple of days later (a hostel dog of all the places!). These things can happen to anyone I know - but it puts a dampener on the time there.
But the main reason was it was just way too touristy. The island is mainly full of westerners & a couple of the spots, in particular - the rice fields, felt like a lot of the people were there just to get 'insta famous'.
Also the Kuta region which I didn't get any footage of - people approach you constantly trying to ride their bike. Think Thailand 'you want tuk tuk' but on heroin. I don't blame them entirely - but it gets pretty annoying after a short while.
Anyway that's just my opinion. People can and should obviously make their own choices as always :D
Next video will cover the Gili Islands and a short part on Lombok.
