The amended sections as per BNS are mentioned below:
Section 14- Mistake of Fact - Genuine belief due to a mistake of fact, not law, is not an offence.
Section 15- Jdges Acting Judicially -Judges acting in good faith with lawful power aren’t liable.
Section 16- Acts Done Under Court Orders- Following a court order in good faith, even if the court had no authority, is not an offence.
Section 17- Mistaken Belief of Justification- Acts done in good faith under mistaken legal justification are excusable.
Section 18- Accidental Acts During Lawful Activities- Accidents occurring while performing lawful activities with caution are excusable.
Section 19- Harm to Prevent Greater Harm- Acts done to prevent greater harm, without criminal intent, are excusable.
Section 20 & 21-Acts by Children-Children under 7 are incapable of committing a crime; those between 7-12 are liable only if they understand their actions.
Section 22- Acts by the Mentally Unsound-Mentally incapable individuals are not criminally responsible for their actions.
Section 23-Involuntary Intoxication--Acts committed under involuntary intoxication are not criminal offences.
Section 25- Acts Done Without Malice but With Consent- Harm done without malice and with consent is not an offence.
Sections 26 & 27- Acts for Another’s Benefit- Acts done in good faith for someone’s benefit, with their consent or guardian’s, are not offences.
Section 28- Invalid Consent- Consent given under fear, misconception, or by someone incapable (e.g., intoxicated or underage) is invalid.
Section 29- Independent Crimes Despite Consent- Some acts, like causing a miscarriage, remain crimes even with consent.
Section 30- Emergency Acts Without Consent- Acts done in emergencies for someone’s benefit without consent are excusable.
Section 31- Good Faith Communication- Harm caused by good faith communication is excusable.
Section 32- Acts Done Under Immediate Threat - Acts committed under threat of immediate death, except for serious crimes, are excusable.
Section 33- Trivial Harm-Minor harm that would not be reasonable to complain about is not a crime.
