The COVID-19 pandemic is seeing Christmas events cancelled, three months out from the holiday as department store Myer cancels its traditional window display in Melbourne.
Adelaide's Carols by Candlelight would likely be moved online for a virtual concert but plans were yet to be confirmed.
The Elder Park event attracted around 30,000 spectators a year.
Other events were expected to be cancelled or altered to meet social distancing requirements.
