Niki Higgins said that her clients were very discerning and had been looking for the right Palm Beach estate home for some time. Higgins made arrangements to show the house, and her clients were taken with the charm of this very special luxury seaside estate.
The luxury seaside home was originally purchased by Gloria and Joseph W. McCarthy in 1999. Joseph McCarthy is a former president of the Motel 6 chain, and the retired chief executive officer of the U.S branch of Accor Corporation.
They purchased the magnificent estate for .825 million, during construction. The six-bedroom luxury seaside estate has 13,217 square feet, an exquisite foyer featuring a double "bridal" staircase, and colonnaded loggias framing the swimming pool and fountain. There is also a separate guesthouse for visitors. The glorious estate is located six blocks north of The Mar-a-Lago-Club, and is just one lot west of South Ocean Boulevard.
The luxury seaside estate has been an ideal location for events and parties. Over the last several years, the McCarthys hosted events honoring the Palm Beach Round Table lectures series and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The McCarthy's felt it was the right time to downsize since their children had moved out and into their own homes. They have moved to their new luxury waterfront condominium at One Watermark Place also located in West Palm Beach.
