The Physicians Oath is an essential part of the graduation ceremony for medical students. We filmed students backstage at Benaroya Hall, and also show them taking the pledge together, becoming physicians together.
The Physicians Oath has roots that date back nearly 2,500 years and has quite the interesting history. It was rewritten internationally after the experiences of World War II. Every medical school adapts it for their community; you can see the University of Washington School of Medicine's full oath here: [ Ссылка ]
The UW School of Medicine’s MD program serves a culturally rich, racially, and socio-economically diverse five-state region known as WWAMI (an acronym for the states served - Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho). We promote diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our medical education program, with a focus on educating and training students who are passionate about medicine and making a difference in their communities.
Filmed and edited by Walter Neary.
