Joe Eagleton with Brannock & Humphries, chair of the Pro Bono Committee of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section, presents Preserving the Record for Appeal.
Eagleton explores one of the most important principle of appellate practices: preserving an issue for purposes of appeal. He provides an overview of the ways in which different types of issues must be presented to the trial court to later be presented to the appellate court, including pointers to ensure the appeal is decided on the merits rather than on the basis of procedural roadblocks.
The course, Course Number 2200822N, is part of the Appeals for the Pro Bono Practitioner series. It is approved for .5 CLE credit with certification in Appellate Practice, Criminal Appellate Law, and Juvenile Law by The Florida Bar until March 31, 2023.
