Lulu announces Rs.1,000 cr Investment in indian food processing sector
Dubai: Lulu Group which operate 187 Hypermarket and super market in Middle East, Egypt india and the Far East has announced setting up of new food processing units in telengana, Punjab, gujarat and Kerala.
The group which already exports Rs 3000 cr worth of fresh and processed food from india to its operations in various gulf countries expects to double it with the establishment of these new centers.
The new food processing centers will be set up with an investment of Rs 1000 cr in the next two years.
The details of these projects were announced by Yusuffali MA chairman of Lulu Group during the meeting with Indian minister for food processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal at the on going Gulfood exhibition being held at World Trade Center, Dubai.
Apart from food processing sector lulu is also expanding its shopping mall business in various prominent cities in India, with the next one slated to open in Lucknow by mid Q 3, 2020 followed by trivandrum and Bangalore by end 2020.
Yusuffali also held wide ranging discussions with various ministers and government officials including UAE minister for food security Mariam Al Muhairi, Jordan minister for Industry, Trade, and Supply Tariq Hammouri.
