No, Saddam did not genocide Kurds. This was a lie created by the US working with pro-Iran Kurdish militia groups for propaganda to justify killing Iraqi children and other innocents in the 1990s and to later justify the 2003 Iraq War. Kurds mostly fought for him and supported him. This is all explained in the book "Oil and the Kurdish Question", by the chief CIA analyst on the Iran-Iraq War and scholar on Kurds, Stephen Pelletiere. About Halabja, Khomeini, not Iraq, gassed Halabja.
