Official trailer for Cesc Gay's Fiction (Ficció) which is presented by Cambridge Film Festival Rewind, a look back at the very best films from 40 years of Cambridge Film Festival.

Back at CFF34 we were very happy to present another film from Cesc Gay, after his film VOS which we screened two years previously.

Alex, a shy and introverted man, is a film director trying to finish the writing of his last script. He decides to leave his wife and children a few days to go to the Pyrenees in search of calm and inspiration.

In the village where he stays, he meets Monica, a musician, who’s staying there with a friend. Love grows between them and they will have to deal with feelings that they have to control and hide.

Feeling that they shall never express…

Often compared to the cinema of Wong Kar Wai, Fiction is a slow meandering through emotions and relationships, and in a beautifully understated way rewards the viewer with an intense emotional crescendo.
