This is just a myth, my answer to the question is the heart rate of the baby will not predict the gender of the baby. The gender of the baby is determined very early in the pregnancy. Infact when the egg fuses with the sperm, it is then that the gender of the baby is determined and the heart rate starts at around 6th week as a flicker of the light it is seen on the ultrasound and initially it will be less, ranging from about 90 to 120 beats per minute and as the days goes by 9th week, it averages by about 120 to 160 beats per minutes. The heart rate to the baby keeps changing every minute, every second. It is because the neurological system of the baby is not mature enough to keep it stable and a study is also done to know of the heart rate of the baby predicts the gender of the baby, but they concluded the study telling that the heart rate of the baby does not predict the gender of the baby. But it is still a myth.
