March 29 Worship Guide
1. Watch the video for songs of worship and the sermon.
2. Discussion Questions
***In leading the discussion, it is always a good idea immediately following the message to ask those with you how the Word of God spoke to them as they listened. Address those thoughts before going into the discussion questions below.
*What is your favorite part about Easter? What are some of the best memories through the years from the Easter season?
*How did Jesus show His omniscience (all-knowing) in this passage?
*Why is the omniscience of God such a comforting thought? Specifically, how are you encouraged that Jesus knows what is coming in His life and your life?
*From Luke 9:31-19:28, there are 10 references to Jerusalem (9:31, 9:51, 9:53, 13:22, 13:33-34, 17:11, 18:31, 19:11, 19:38). Jesus knew where He was going. If Jesus knew what was coming, why did He continue that way?
*How did the crowds get Jesus’ identity so wrong? What were they expecting Him to do? What was His mission? (see Luke 19:10). How do we act just like the crowds, disappointed when Jesus doesn’t do what we want?
*How did Jesus respond to the crowds missing who He was? (see 19:41-44). What does this display from the heart of Jesus?
*Why did Christ cleanse the temple? What was He driving out? What was He bringing back? Why are these areas so important? What in your life needs to be driven out? What needs to be brought back?
3. Prayer Points
*Praise God that He sent Jesus to die and rise again for us.
*Pray for peace in our community, country, and world.
*Pray for those who are affected by COVID-19 and other sicknesses.
*Pray for the family of Anita James (she passed away on March 26) as
they mourn. Pray for God’s peace to comfort them.
*Pray for your hearts to be encouraged that Jesus knows everything.
*Pray for our national, state, and local leaders.
*Pray for our church to remain connected in love and service to each
other.
*Pray for your friends, family, and neighbors that do not know Jesus.
*Pray specifically for any needs in your family (ask for these and pray for
them together).
First Baptist Ellisville exists to gather as God's people in worship, grow together through God's Word, and go in service to our community and world in obedience to Jesus. We invite you to join us in worship anytime, and if we can serve you in any way, please let us know!
