I am driving the BMW M5 E34 at the Top Gear Test Track on Forza Motorsport 4. This car is part of the April Alpinestars Pack.
The E34 M5 continues where the E28 M5 left off and it was produced from 1988 to 1995 at BMW's Dingolfing plant. Earlier models comes with the 24-valve straight-6 found in the E28 M5 but with new forged steel crankshaft and new camshafts, resulting to a stroke of 86mm. This 3.6L engine produces 315PS of power and 360Nm of torque. However in 1991, they've increased the size of the straight-six engine from 3.6 to 3.8L, except in North America and South Africa, which continued with the 3.6 litre engine, because that one had emission controls fitted. Power was now increased to 250 kW (340 PS; 335 bhp).
E34 M5's spawned four special editions called the Cecotto, Winkelhock, 20 Jahre, and the UK Limited Edition (sold only to the Great Britain).
In Series 3 Episode 2 of Top Gear, Richard Hammond reviews the E34 M5 alongside the E30 M3 and the BMW M1 supercar (where James May reviewed it) at the Isle of Man.
