Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province is one of the central provinces of the country, with Shahrekord as its center.
With an area of ​​16,421 square kilometers, this province is the 22nd largest province in the country. Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces are among the mountainous parts of the central plateau of Iran. This province is bordered by Isfahan province from the north and east, Khuzestan province from the west, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces from the south, and Lorestan province from the northwest. About 75% of the population of the province speak the Bakhtiari dialect, 15% speak Persian, and 10% speak Qashqai Turkish, or Chaharmahali Turkish.
