In Malaysia, Friday prayers at mosques were held as normal on March 13 amid the COVID-19 outbreak. However, sermons have been shortened and mosques have been asked to provide hand sanitiser and masks. There are 158 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Authorities are trying to track down those who attended a religious gathering at Sri Petaling Mosque in Kuala Lumpur. Around 16,000 people attended the event in late February, and several attendees have tested positive for the virus.
